God's Greater Plan

Something rather trivial in my personal life brought this post on...
(this guy going home)

Yes. THAT is what brought it on. Seriously, when they said he was in the bottom three, I wasn't so shocked. It wasn't his best night last night. But it didn't merit his going home. And when Ryan said "Colton" my jaw hit the floor.

I appreciated Colton, because he was outspoken for his faith in Christ. (Even changing the lyrics last minute on his final performance. Can we stand as a the Body of Christ and applaud this brother for his strength? Please??) And even at the end of it, he accepted his dues with a completely humble and honorable attitude.

Seriously. This guy is incredible. And I'm thankful that he has a name already, I think he'll go somewhere :)

So! When he lost, my cousin wrote on his facebook fan page. (I was tempted to. So don't laugh at her.) She encouraged him with "God has a plan for you..."

God has a plan for you goes past Colton Dixon. It goes to everyone of us. And even if it comes through some guy leaving American Idol, its nice to be reminded that God has a plan for you. He's not some micro-manager, who sits high and mighty from a distance (though He is very mighty :)) He's a personal God. Who has carefully created not only us, but our stories as well.

This all powerful, all knowing God, is also a God of love. And He loves us enough to discipline us. (Colton still didn't deserve to lose.) But He loves us enough to have an active hand in our lives. and, God, still has a plan for you.
